The imminent advance of technologies has not forgotten the automotive industry and driving, so much so, that not so long ago the most complex navigation device was a road map and today there are complex on-board systems. This makes it possible to exploit a new channel of communication with the user.
Possible use cases for this communication channel can range from recommending restaurants near the user or informing about a promotion while waiting at traffic lights to making parking or charging station reservations while on route just by a simple touch of the screen or a voice command.
The aim of the project is to use vehicles equipped with Android Auto to establish a new communication channel between company and customer but, unlike more traditional means, this can be personalised for each customer and is also bidirectional. It is carried out with the transmission of notifications to an application compatible with Android Auto via Google Cloud PubSub. The aim is to generate individualised notifications for each client from a server application made in Python.
Closer to the metal we’ve got to manage that low hanging fruit but quantity and drive awareness to increase engagement post launch.
